Slim anodised frames and full-height glazing. It floods the space with daylight, which is why it keeps appearing on West Coast renovations that want the garage to be more than storage.
A full-view door changes the elevation more than any other choice on this site. It also changes what the garage is — workshops, gyms and studios are the usual reason people ask. Frosted glazing gives the light without putting the contents on display.
Glass is heavy, so the balance has to be right from day one — the wrong spring on a full-view door punishes the opener and fails early. That is a calculation, not a guess, and it is part of why these get quoted properly rather than off a price list.

With clear glass, yes. Frosted or obscure glazing is what most people choose — you keep the daylight and lose the display.
Single glazing is. If the garage is heated or has a room above, specify insulated units and thermally broken frames and it behaves properly.
The glazing is tempered and the sections are aluminium framed. It is a garage door, not a window — but frosted glass also means nobody can see what is worth taking.
Often, yes. These are heavier than steel, so both the springs and the operator are sized to the actual weight of the door.
SteelThe default for good reason: strong, warm, low maintenance and available in almost any look, including convincing faux wood. Thermally broken options for garages you actually use as rooms.
